Study for Japan's Real Estate Exam Like You're Listening to the Radio: Takken Radio, an Audio Study App Made by a Licensed Specialist

This article is the English translation of the Japanese original.

Takken Radio (宅建ラジオ), a radio-style app dedicated to studying for the Takken exam, has been available on the App Store since September 11, 2026. Takken is Japan's national licensing exam for real estate transaction agents (宅地建物取引士, "Real Estate Transaction Specialist"). Built by a practicing licensed Real Estate Transaction Specialist, the app lets you listen to audio explanations based on past exam questions, like a radio show, and check the key points as you go. It fits into spare moments such as a commute or the time before bed, and this version is free.
Common struggles when studying in spare moments
App Overview
Takken Radio explains an entire year of the Takken exam out loud, based on past questions from the 2022 (Reiwa 4) exam. It is designed as a supplementary tool for spare moments, to be used alongside the main materials from a cram school, prep school, or correspondence course.
- One audio track per question, covering the Real Estate Brokerage Act, Rights and Relationships, Legal Restrictions, Taxes and Other Topics, and the five exempted questions section (statistics questions excluded)
- Each track runs 2 to 9 minutes
- The 2022 (Reiwa 4) exam has many well-made questions, and a single year lets you work through each subject once, so it was chosen as the first content
- Every question text and explanation has been checked and revised to reflect the latest legal amendments that apply to the 2026 exam
